And so we traveled once again to places near and far, in search of Cinderella...
This week we visited England where the book Tattercoats is the Cinderella story children there are familiar with, and learned that bangers and mash is sausage and mashed potatoes. Then on to Mexico where book Adelita introduced us to many Spanish words and we learned about luchador wrestler and bullfighters! Next up was the country of Egypt. This Cinderella story, The Egyptian Cinderella, is mostly a true story and historians tell us it is the oldest next to the Chinese version. Lastly, we read The Rough-faced Girl, a Native American tale that told about a young girl and how she captured the heart of the Invisible Being. That brings us back home, our trip complete. 10 stories and countries in all. Did you know there are actually between 350 and 1500 versions?!
We practiced developing patterns this week...

We practiced developing patterns this week...
Enjoyed a Christmas concert...
And enjoyed a visit from Delaney's Grandma who came to talk with us about compassion. We did more role playing on how to be a compassionate friend...
and then practiced giving compliments and letting a friend know how much of a gift they are to the classroom.
