The pictures don't do the 50 MPH wind justice or the snow squalls! Most of the time, you couldn't even see the edge of the canyon...crazy!
If for some reason it doesn't work, here is the link:

It is so fun to watch!
Now, somehow my answers to the reindeer brain busters did not make it into my post before Break so here there are again...

and 21 is the only one with a multiple of 7.

Next I looked at what 2 numbers subtracted could equal 4 ...one of those numbers would have to be a multiple of the candy cane (21).

I started in row 3 since the same number showed up 3 times in the same row.
If you haven't already done this one I would maybe tell them 2 of the shapes and see if they can get it from there....maybe 3. This might ease the frustration ;)

This one was my favorite. I started to the right first.
Then after seeing it was 5 for each bell, I looked to the left.
If 30 was on one side then divided in half each reindeer was 15.
Then I plugged the numbers into the bottom problem.
Wow, was that challenging! What is great about this challenge is that it really uses problem solving to plot your way through it. Our upcoming test in Feb/March have many of these kinds of math problems so we are beginning to expose kids to these kinds of questions now so they are ready :)
Remember, do these kinds of problems in small doses, and show them your thought process when you solve this along side them. Hearing you, like they hear me, talk about how we tackle these kinds of problems is invaluable to their learning math. Struggling and disequilibrium is ok! They need a little bit of struggle to be able to use their problem solving skills as well as their coping skills. If it is to much of a struggle, back off and just do one or two. We want a little discomfort, not a melt down!
