Wow was creating roller coaster so much fun! The kids really had a blast with this science unit- what's not to love - one whole day with nothing but experiments on how to move a marble from one end of the room to the other!
Searching for nonfiction or "informational" text features was a lot of fun- kids poured over book after book to find all the usual ones, like captions and glossaries, but really liked finding cut-away's, maps, close-ups, charts, diagrams, and really cool graphs to add to their toolbox of things to be on the look out for when they are reading this type of book.
The kids really like testing each other before we took the spelling test!
Gobble, Gobble...how awesome are these turkeys?!
Polygons were a big hit, especially when they go to use the online geoboard.
Hmm......What should I bring with me to the new world?
We learned how to do double and triple digit addition without regrouping (or carrying) and subtraction (without borrowing) last week. This week we used number lines to regroup or "bridge" as it is called in Stepping Stones. Next week I will be showing them how to do the regrouping and borrow with some fun and exciting games I have planned!
We did many activities learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans last week, but these ones they loved the best!
Math games are always a great way to learn math facts!
Kids shared their Historical Fiction Book reports today and they were awesome!!
Mrs. Moore came in to talk with the kids about Compassion...
And finally, here are some of the kids dressed up for career day! We had a banker, a vet, astronaut, artist, chef, architect, actress, retiree, chess teacher, hair dresser, horse trainer, and lots of teachers!
