Today in class we tested out an app that I want to use for their Monster stories that they are currently working on. The app combines a photo of something and then adds an overlay of words to the picture. It is called WordFoto and we tested it out with Halloween images and words that they brainstormed about Halloween. We used oil pastels on black construction paper. They came out great so the kids will do the same thing for their story- they will draw their monster and then add words from their story. Should look pretty awesome!
The kids have been working really hard this week on their state reports and here is a sneak peek!
Bats and owls are also of great interest this time of the year so we are doing some non-fiction work learning about these 2 fascinating creatures!
And finally I have started a Shoe-tying Hall of Fame since so many kids have untied shoe laces! If they can show me that they can tie their shoes they get to decorate a shoe and get a little treat. Hopefully this will motivate kiddos to keep practicing so we can stay safe and keep those shoes on!
